Open Banking. Technical documentation. HUB SandBox Redsys.

Open Banking

Arquia Banca collaborates with Payment Entities interested in providing "open banking" services through our bank:

  • "Payment initiation" services (allow a payment order to be initiated, at the request of the payment service user, with respect to an account opened with another payment services provider).
  • "Account information" services opened in different entities (an online service for providing aggregated information on one or more payment accounts held by the payment services user, either with another payment services provider or several payment service providers). These are also known as "banking aggregation services", "financial aggregation services" or "account aggregation services".

In short, "open banking" allows, principally: cardless payment in electronic stores; and the use of "apps" and "web services" to view certain financial information in an aggregated manner.

Regulatory framework

These services are regulated by: Directive (EU) 2015/2366 of the European Parliament and of the Council [PSD2 Directive], the Delegated Regulation (EU) 2018/389 of the Commission, and Royal Decree-Law 19/2018 of 23 November, on payment services and other urgent financial measures.

Technical information

The method chosen by Arquia Banca to implement the aforementioned regulatory developments is integration with the HUB PSD2 service provided by Redsys, a service that follows version 1.3 of the standard "NextGen PSD2 XS2A Framework" of the Berlin Group, and which covers all the mandatory functionality required in the PSD2 Directive. The technical specifications linked to the reference interfaces include the requirements of the Technical Security Regulations and the EBA guidelines for obtaining exemption from the "fall back" mechanism.

Arquia Banca has space in the Redsys Sandbox PSD2 environment where you can find the technical documentation, interfaces and support contact that enable them to carry out interoperability tests on payment initiation services and account information with our bank.
